The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation on 22 September stated that those wishing to operate salt and salt products in Ayeyawady Region may apply for work licences.
Salt farming industries are being operated in Pyapon and Labutta districts of Ayeyawady Region. A total of 803 businesspersons are operating salt farms in the region in 2018-19 fiscal year, producing 21,950 tons of salt.
A total of 17 iodized salt mills are being run in Pathein Township, 10 in Myaungmya Township, four in Labutta Township and one in Pyapon Township, totalling 32. Ay e y a w a d y R e g i o n Branch from Salt Industry
Branch of Mining Department issued a press release on application for work licences to operate various
kinds of salt production such as the salt under the sun, crushing salt and iodized salt for 2019-2020 salt production season.
Applications can be submitted to Salt Industry Branch of Mining Department at No 28 on Myat Lay
